Today in...

Wahlberg for more Transformers, Bates' Motel trailer, and More Far Cry

....Movies

- Looks like the Transformers liked Mark Wahlberg. It was revealed that he will becoming back for Transformers 5 after making his debut in Transformers: Age of Extinction. It's unclear about who will join him or who will direct, but Wahlberg has said he's committed to "a couple  more" Transformer films.

- Sony Pictures as acquired the rights to the 1983 animated film Fire and Ice. They also got Robert Rodriguez to sign to direct a life-action version of it. This is a big win for a studio that is having a rough few weeks.

....Television

- It seems like a great time of year for new trailers as I talked about two yesterday and am about to talk about one more. This one? Bates' Motel season 3. And this one pays homage to Psycho.

- AMC has found their lead for their direct-to-series martial arts drama with the working title, Badlands. Hong Kong actor Daniel Wu will play Sunny, a ruthless, well-trained warrior. He will also produce. Wu has previously been featured in more than 60 films and won a Hong Kong Prize for Best Directer.

....Video Games

- Fan of the Wii U? Not a fan? Either way, it's two-years-old and Nintendo is already thinking about the next console. From an Associated Press interview, Super Mario Bros. creator and leading Nintendo visionary Shigeru Miyamoto stated,

"For the time being, our focus is on the Wii U hardware, but Nintendo as a whole has groups working on ideas for new hardware systems. While we're busy working on software for the Wii U, we have production lines that are working on ideas for what the next system might be."

It should be noted that this kind of planning is normal from console manufacturers. It probably be a few more years till you have to worry about this.

- Dying for more Far Cry 4? Well, you only have to wait till January 13, Ubisoft announced. Escape from Durgesh Prison, which was revealed with the season pass, will have players completing challenges and finding weapons across Kyrat while also upgrading skills and gear. It will be playable in single player and Co-Op, but beware, if players die, they have to start all over again.
